Brief Description
Presentation case to house the silver medal won by Shirley Strickland at the British Empire Games in New Zealand, 1950, for second place in the 100 yards. Case is flat, brown, with corners, with BRITISH EMPIRE GAMES/ NEW ZEALAND/ AUCKLAND/ 1950 embossed in gold on the lid, along with a feathered foot logo. Inside of case is cushioned silken material; base is a stiff silken bed with a slight depression for the medal. A thin ribbon acts as a hinge between the lid and base.
