Bronze medal awarded to Shirley Strickland for second place in the 100 yards running race, on 4 January, 1950, at the Australian Track and Field Championship held in Adelaide. The medal features a central shield engraved with the event details, surrounded by the shield's of Australia's six states linked by a laurel wreath. Inscribed at bottom is STOKES. On the reverse is the emblem of the Australian Womens Amateur Athletic Union, surrounded by their name.
