Brief Description
Silver medal awarded to Shirley Strickland for first place in the 80 metres hurdles, run in 11.7 seconds on 7 January, 1950, at the Australian Track and Field Championship held in Adelaide. The medal features a central shield engraved with the event details, surrounded by the shield's of Australia's six states linked by a laurel wreath. Inscribed at bottom is STG SIL and STOKES. On the reverse is the emblem of the Australian Womens Amateur Athletic Union, surrounded by their name.
