Photograph of Shirley Strickland wearing a white sporting uniform and the number 668, coming second near the finish line of a race at the London Olympics in 1948. The image includes five other runners, including Fanny Blankers- Koen crossing the finish line, head to the side. Image includes a group of observers on a slightly raised platform (mid photo), and officials and crowd in the background. A purple THE TIMES stamp is on the reverse.
