Brief Description
Presentation case, hinged, to house the silver medal won by Shirley Strickland at the XIVth Olympiad in London, 1948, for second place in the 400 metres Relay. Case is blue with dark blue stippling, rounded edges, thin gold border and THE/ OLYMPIC GAMES/ LONDON/ 1948 embossed on the lid. Inside of lid is cushioned silken material, base is a stiff green felt bed with a depression for the medal.
