Black and white photograph taken during the Women's 80 Metres Hurdles final at the Olympic Games, London, 1948, showing 3 runners (one obscured) jumping a hurdle running from right to left of shot with crowd in background. The three athletes are Shirley Strickland (jumping hurdle farthest from camera), Maureen Gardner (obscured) and Fanny Blankers-Koen (closest to camera). Strickland won Bronze. On the reverse is handwritten text in blue ink, and the stamp of the Olympic Photo Association.
