Brief Description
Black and white photograph of Shirley Strickland (athlete) crossing the finish line of a race in first place. She has just broken through the tape, wearing a white top with the number 668, shorts with a double dark stripe, and dark shoes. The photo is aerial, taken from in front, showing all competitors. The numbers are from left to right- 903, 668, 684, 665, 677. Coming second is a lady wearing the number 684. A purple OLYMPIC PHOTO ASSOCIATION, 1948 stamp is on the reverse, along with a handwritten listing of the placegetters, reads in part HEAT 2 100M SAT. JULY 31ST, 1948/ 1. STRICKLAND (668) 12.4.
