Brief Description
Black and white photograph, uncut, of Shirley Strickland (athlete) crossing the finish line of a race in first place. She has just broken through the tape, wearing a white top with the number 668, shorts with a double dark stripe, and dark shoes. All runners are going towards the left, the photo includes three runners. Coming second is a lady wearing the number 684, visible behind her is a third lady wearing the number 903. A black CENTRAL PRESS PHOTOS LTD stamp is on the reverse, along with a purple typewritten listing of the placegetters, reads in part FINISH OF SECOND HEAT IN WOMEN'S 100 METRES AT EMPIRE/ STADIUM, WEMBLEY.
