Brief Description
Black and white photograph of Shirley Strickland (athlete) crossing the finish line of a race in first place. She has just broken through the tape, wearing a white top with the number 668, shorts with a double dark stripe, and dark shoes. All runners are going towards the left, the photo includes the complete loudspeakers. Coming second is a lady wearing the number 684, behind her is a third lady wearing the number 665, then no. 677, then 903. A black OLYMPIC PHOTO ASSOCIATION, 1948 stamp is on the reverse, along with a handwritten listing of the placegetters, reads in part SAT JULY 31ST, 1948./ 1 668 S. STRICKLAND 12.1/ 3 665 S. DE PORTELA (ARGENTINA) 13.1
