Brief Description
Black and white photograph (sepia- toned), close-up, of Shirley Strickland (athlete) crossing the finish line of a race in first place. She has just broken through the tape, wearing a white top with the number 668, shorts with a double dark stripe, and dark shoes. All runners are going towards the right. Coming second is a lady wearing the number 684, behind her is a third lady wearing the number 665. A purple typewritten label has been affixed to the reverse, reads in part XIV OLYMPIAD- WOMEN'S 100 METRES, details Shirley Strickland winning the second heat of the 100m Women's, and the other two top placegetters.
