Brief Description
Black and white photograph of Fanny Blankers-Koen (athlete) crossing the finish line of a race, head to the side. The finish tape is visible just in front of her. She wears a white top, darker shorts, and dark shoes. Five other women are just behind her, including Shirley Strickland, wearing number 668. This race was Heat 1 of the Semi-finals for the women's 100m event. Fanny Blankers-Koen and Shirley Strickland advanced to the final, and finished first and third, respectively. A purple stamp is on the reverse, reads, "THE TIMES".
