Black and white photograph showing the inside of a stadium, with the athletes all grouped, standing in neat rows. Two domed roofs are visible over the edge of the stadium. Handwritten on the reverse in ink is THE TEAMS LINED UP ON THE ARENA/ DURING THE OPENING CEREMONY- THE PIDGEON (sic)/ HAD JUST BEEN RELEASED/ JULY 29 1948.
