Brief Description
Black and white photograph of six young women (two obscured) jumping over a line of hurdles, towards the right, on a dirt track. The leftmost lady wears a headscarf and glasses. Shirley Strickland is second from the left, wearing a white athletic top with a number on it, white shorts with a stripe, and dark shoes, spikes visible. Stadium seating is to the right. Piece of paper affixed to reverse is typewritten in purple ink, reads in part INTERNATIONAL ATHLETICS. THE BRITISH EMPIRE V THE U.S.A. AT THE/ WHITE CITY STADIUM.
