Brief Description
"Champion Girl Athlete" Trophy awarded to Shirley Strickland in 1939, at the age of 14, by the staff of Northam High School. Silver coloured cup on a brown plastic base with decorative handles on either side. The cup is round, with a bulbous section near the rim which is engraved with "N.H.S. / Staff Cup / 1939". The bowl underneath is engraved with "Champion Girl Athlete / SHIRLEY STRICKLAND". It then narrows to a thin stem before flaring again to a round base, which sits atop a bakelite base with raised decoration.
