Brief Description
Large black and white photo of a cricket ground, with a chain barrier in the foreground, and various built structures on the far side of the ground, that are labelled as "SCOREBOARD", "PRESS AND / SCORERS' BOX", "MEMBERS' PAVILION", and "GRANDSTAND- THE FINEST IN THE WORLD". There are a number of people on and around the ground. Inscription at the top reads, "MELBOURNE CRICKET GROUND / 1877". Inscription at the bottom reads, "THIS PICTURE SHOWS THE ENTIRE GROUND STAFF AND THE EQUIPMENT, / AND THE GROUND AT THE DATE OF THE FIRST TEST MATCH- / 15TH. 16TH. 17TH. 19TH. MARCH 1877". Black wooden frame with gold recess.
