Brief Description
Mounted football award presented to footballer Fred Fanning of Melbourne Football Club in 1947 for kicking 18 goals in one game. The leather football is mounted on to a silver base which splays outwards at the bottom where it is attached to a bakelite stand. Inscription, engraved on silver oval plate affixed to the side of the football, "V.F.L.GOAL KICKING RECORD/F.J.FANNING (18 GOALS)/MELBOURNE ST. KILDA/30.8.47".
