Object Detail
Brief Description
Oil painting on stretched canvas of a cricket match at the MCG, with players on the field and a large crowd in the stand. It captures the moment Randall was caught Marsh, bowled Lillee, for 4 runs, in England's first innings of the Centenary Test, Melbourne 1977. Faces of some players are distinctive, especially Lillee. Frame is metallic gold on metal, rubbed back to give an antique look, with a metal hanging strap at the back. Note: The sign says "Southern Stand 1932", which is incorrect: it always read "Southern Stand 1937".
