Miniature cricket bat with light-coloured wood and black rubber-wrapped handle. The rubber around the handle also has green-orange-green stripes at both ends. On the front are the players' signatures in pen, faded and virtually illegible under the handwritten title AUSTRALIA v ENGLAND. The match was played between these two teams 18, 19, 21 and 23 December 1936. The bat originally belonged to the late squadron leader M.C. Johnston. Maker's inscription on bat reads 'Stuart Surridge & Co. Ltd. London, U.K.'.
