Object Detail
Brief Description
Ceramic jug with cream glaze, gilt edge and decorative moulded handle and surface. The 'front' of the jug features a coloured painted image after the popular 1906 paintings of the urchin boy cricketer by E.P. Kinsella. The boy is depicted wearing a broad-brimmed hat, holding a cricket bat in front of fallen wickets. He has a rather bewildered expression on his face, and the inscription below reads "HARD LUCK"!. A small flower motif is painted on the opposite side.
