Brief Description
Large, oval-shaped ceramic plate (meat dish), with white ground and blue decoration. The central image is a cricket match with Windsor Castle in the background. A number of figures wearing stockings, breeches and brimmed hats are playing cricket, and several others are watching. Beyond the playing field is a river and beyond that Windsor Castle. The scene is surrounded by an elaborate blue foliage border. A metal support has been fixed around the back of the plate. A scroll on the reverse contains the text "METROPOLITAN SCENERY / WINDSOR CASTLE" and "4.5 /B". M5335.2 is the meat strainer.
