Object Detail

Brief Description
Robert Ingpen's original design of an image of Australian batsman, Michael Bevan. The artist's original image number and subject's name and country are handwritten below the design, with the pencilled years '2001-02'. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which has been signed and dated by the artist. The image, which also features a 'drop in' pitch used at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the MCG. Bevan is regarded as one of the finest one-day batsmen in the world.
