Robert Ingpen's original design of an image of Essendon footballer, James Hird. The artist's original image number and subject's name and club are handwritten below the design. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which has been signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the MCG. Hird won a number of awards including Brownlow Medal, Norm Smith Medal, and multiple club Best & Fairest and All-Australian selections.
