Brief Description
Robert Ingpen's original depiction of rugby union players during the 1997 Bledisloe Cup match (Australia v New Zealand) at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The artist's original image number (182) and subject are handwritten below the design. A sheet of tracing paper, with grid lines and references, folds over the artwork which has been signed and dated by the artist. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the MCG. The match between the Wallabies and the All Blacks in July 1997 drew a crowd of 90,119. The All Blacks won 33 to 18.
