Robert Ingpen's original design of an image of the first recorded game of Australian Rules Football, in Yarra Park in 1858, between Scotch College and Melbourne Grammar. Tom Wills is depicted umpiring the game. The image is included in a tapestry celebrating 150 years of performances and events on the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The artist's original image number - 5 - and information related to the game are handwritten in pencil below the design. A sheet of tracing paper, with the grid references for the layout of the tapestry, folds over the artwork which is signed and dated by the artist.
