Brief Description
Medal attached - with wire - to the top left corner of a red, card certificate. The medal - gold-coloured with red, white and blue enamel panels and scrolls - is lettered 'IXION ROAD RACE/ BENDIGO-MELBOURNE/ 92 MILES/ 1931'. The certificate - with gold border and printed text - reads 'Famous Ixion Road Race/ Bendigo to Melbourne/ Conducted by the Victorian Amateur Cyclists' Union/ September 6th 1930/ Special Cycling Certificate/ This Certificate is awarded to A. Ploog (handwritten) in recognition of his Fine Cycling Performances in the above/ Road Race, in which he covered this distance of 92 miles in/ 3 hours 58 min. 18 2/5 secs'.
