Brief Description
Multicoloured, enamelled medal with navy blue and white striped ribbon. The medal features a coat-of-arms with lion and unicorn, an image of a river with yellow banks, crossed oars and leaf wreaths, and a white scroll with lettering that reads 'HAWTHORN ROWING CLUB', all on a navy blue enamelled background. The reverse is of gold-coloured cast metal and features cast text that reads 'HEAD OF THE YARRA/ PRESENTED BY/ HAWTHORN ROWING CLUB' and 'SECTION WINNER'. Black printed text on inscription panels reads 'MENS OPEN' and '1999'. The ribbon is threaded through a suspension bar which is cast as part of the medal.
