Brief Description
Medal presented to Brian Dixon (ex-footballer and MP) by the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in the 1970s. Named the Graeme Grove medal, it was awarded to Dixon for his role in introducing the compulsory use of seatbelts. Obverse features portrait in black of a man (Grove) wearing a suit. Text in legend reads "ROYAL AUSTRALASIAN COLLEGE OF SURGEONS / GRAEME GROVE MEDAL". Text on reverse reads "Road Trauma / Committee / Presented to / BRIAN DIXON". Black presentation box, blue velvet interior base with satin interior top showing acid marks
