Brief Description
Model sculpture acting as a commemorative plaque mounted onto wooden base. Model of the new Pavilion built at the East Molesey Cricket Club ground between 1955-56. At the top of the model are three panels (i.e. roofs) with inscriptions in Latin script. The centre reads, "NEW PAVILION / EAST MOLESEY C.C.(1695 - 1956) / TO LIFE MEMBER VICE-PRESIDENT / R.G.MENZIES, P.C.,C.H.,M.P. / ALSO PRIME MINISTER OF AVSTRALIA / GREETINGS 1 - 7 - 56 / B.M.TVRNER / PRESIDENT". On left panel, "FOVNDATION STONE / LAID BY / R. G. M. / 29 - 1- 55". On right panel: '"WILL YE NO/COME BACK AGAIN"'. Makers marks at lower right corner of the front of the model, and on metallic plate at underside of base.
