Object Detail

Brief Description
Piece of paper folded into three to produce a small booklet. One flap has the fixture for the English cricket team matches in Australia in 1946-7, as well as the Sheffield Shield competition. The other two panels have a picture of a fieldsman catching the ball (with his pants falling off), and the third with text including "ALL SPORTSMAN [...] Enjoy the Best of ALES and SPIRITS at the PRINCE ALFRED HOTEL". Printed on the other side in landscape format are humorous cartoons illustrating common cricket phrases, such as "A MAIDEN OVER" (a man holding a fainting woman), "A LEG GLANCE" (men watching can-can dancers), and "LONG ON" (a (stereotypical) picture of an Asian man).
