Brief Description
Circular nickel silver tray. Tray is recessed and features a decorative pattern around the rim. On the base of the tray there is an engraved floral motif. Inscription on the base of tray reads, "Presented To Melbourne Cricket Club / ~ By The Birthplace Of The Ashes Society ~ / 5th February 1997 / Rupertswood C.C. 162 / Defeated / M.C.C. XXIX Club 150 / Commemorating The Inaugural Match Against The Rupertswood C.C. / At Rupertswood". Rupertswood is the name of the property in Sunbury, Victoria where the "Ashes" was developed between Australia and England in the 19th century.
