Brief Description
Victorian Football League life membership medal awarded, posthumously, to Jack Elder (umpire). The medal - with suspension ring and plaited, blue cord - features a central monogram - 'VFL' - dark blue, enamelled oval, and lettering that reads ' Victorian Football League'. The reverse is engraved 'J. ELDER/ LIFE MEMBER/ 1979'. Elder umpired 39 finals and 10 Grand Finals during his career from 1908 to 1922.
