Brief Description
Front cover of the December 31, 1881 edition of the Australasian Sketcher magazine, housed in a card window mount. At the top of the print is the elaborate title banner of the magazine, with the edition, date and price printed below. The cover illustration features various cricketing scenes, each with a short caption. In the centre is an image of a cricket match, subtitled "THE GAME". The other scenes are titled "ROLLING THE WICKET", "CRITICS", "YAH! BUTTERFINGERS", "FAIR SPECTATORS", "LUNCH BEEF PLEASE", "A SHOWER" and "GREAT PREPARATIONS". The scenes are contained within a thin border, below which is an overall title, "[S]KETCHES AT THE MATCH ALL ENGLAND V. VICTORIA".
