Brief Description
An illustrated page from a nineteenth-century magazine, perhaps The Graphic. The illustration is an etching and shows figures on horseback who are playing a form of cricket, with the figure in the foreground reaching to collect the ball, and in the background, horse-riders holding bats and running between two sets of stumps. The print has a simple line border and the draughtsman's name, "W Ralston" appears in the lower-right corner. Below the image, a caption reads "CRICKET ON HORSEBACK - A VISION OF THE FUTURE". On the reverse of the page are various unrelated advertisements. The year "1883" has been pencilled on both sides of the page. The page is loosely mounted behind cream-coloured card, with a vendor's sticker on the back.
