Object Detail
Brief Description
A card issued by the Melbourne Football Club Past & Present Players' & Officials' Association. Features a reproduction of a watercolour caricature by Rogers, of Norm Smith (coach). One from a series of 21 autographed cards (signatures of the deceased are facsimilies) of each individual member of the 1959 M.F.C. Premiership team. Smith's vital, 1959 Grand Final coaching, and overall M.F.C. achievement stats, as well as a short biography, feature on the back. Only 500 sets of these cards were produced for the general public. This set however, is one of the rarer "VIP" set issues, of which only 70 were made, and not for public sale. Each card, as well as the certificate are stamped '0060',thus making this edition 60/70.
