Brief Description
Black and white photograph featuring ceramic bowl. Believed to be a porcelain copy of the Caishaeton (sic.) Bowl reproduced by Wedgewood. Depicts cricket scene framed by wreath of leaves. Stated to be after the original painting, "Cricket in the Artillery Ground" (1743). Rim design is a chain of leaves similar to grape or fig leaves. Initials "JD or SD 1796" painted beneath scene. Surface appears worn and faded. Marylebone Cricket Club and photographers stamp with negative number: MCC636A on back of image. Writing on reverse reads "3A".
