1 of 12 cards created by St. Kilda Photographer - Frank Nelson Dane (T/as Ané) of the 1878 Australian's including John Conway (Team Mgr). The team was captained by David Gregory and became the first Australian Test team to tour to England in 1878. These cards/images were registered with the Victorian Patents Office Copyright Collection; VPOCC (which is now held by the State Library of Victoria) on 10/10/1878. The 12 cards are considered to be the earliest known issues of Australian Trade cards depicting cricket (or cricketers) as the central subject.
