Brief Description
Off-white cotton handkerchief, printed in black ink, featuring a group portrait taken from a photograph of the Australian Cricket Team. They are posing seated and standing on the steps of a building, dressed in whites, striped caps and blazers, with one man wearing a suit. Their names are printed underneath. The title is printed within a scroll and reads "THE AUSTRALIAN ELEVEN VISITING ENGLAND / 1882". The batting and bowling averages for the tour are listed on either side of the image. In each of the corners is an image of a bat, stumps, cricket balls, pads and wickets, gathered together. A decorative border surrounds. The handkerchief is displayed within a cream window mount.
