Letter written in black ink on a single sheet of blue paper. It reads: "Cafe de Paris / Melbourne 17th Oct 1860 / Mr R. W. Wardill esq / Hon Sec [MCC] / Sir / We beg to tender you the sum of / One hundred pounds pr. anno for the sole rights / of selling Refreshments on the Melbourne Cricket / Grounds as advertised in the Age of this / day. / We are Sir / Yours obdtly / Spiers & Pond".
