Object Detail

Brief Description
Print of "THE CRICKETERS" (1948) by Russell Drysdale. It is copied in shiny ink onto a textured surface to resemble an oil painting on canvas. The painting depicts a rural scene with sparse buildings and harsh landscape, with a bowler and batsman in the foreground. They are watched by one other and are playing in front of what appears to be the main building in the town, probably a pub. It is painted in mainly yellow, brown and orange hues, and there is a label on the back with information about the artist and painting. The frame is wood, the inner section painted white, the middle painted in a pale white wash, and the outer a pale wood.
