Brief Description
Cricket bat with sealed, spliced blade and twine bound handle and shoulder. The lower half of the blade has been sheathed in leather, with a stitched seam on the reverse. The maker's mark, Sykes, can be found on the front by the shoulder, with the inscription EDGAR MAYNE / MELBOURNE / THE CLUB CHAMPION below. The blade is covered with red cricket ball marks, from use.
