Brief Description
Lithograph; discoloured cream card. Full body drawing of a man holding a red cricket ball. 3/4 profile. He wears a white top hat that has a blue ribbon at it's base, a blue bow tie, white shirt and pants, red belt and black shoes. There is a person and house in the background. Title centred below the image reads: "CLARKE / Slow Bowler of Nottingham, Secretary to the All England Eleven". Below the title in smaller print "London, Published by John Corbet Anderson, 40 Church Road, de Beauvoir Square Kingsland, March 1st 1850/ and by F. Lillywhite, 10 Princes Terrace, Caledonian Road, Islington.". Immediately below the image l.l. printed "Sketches at Lords No. 12"; and immediately below the image l.r., printed John C. Anderson del et lith."
