Brief Description
Handcoloured lithograph;cream, black and white image of a man. Full length, full profile, with right leg slightly in front of left. He holds a cricket ball with both hands at waist height. He wears a striped cap, bow tie, shirt, pants and black shoes. Behind him are some trees and the edge of a building. Title below image centre reads "JAMES DEAN , / BORN AT DUNCTON, SUSSEX, 1816.". Immediately below image l.l., printed 'John C. Anderson del et lith."; below image l.r., 'Printed by Stannard & Dixon". Printed below title in centre "Published by F. Lillywhite & Wisden 2 New Coventry St. Leicester Square London, April 14th 1857".
