Cartoon, black ink on off-white board, with some pencil markings and smudges showing through. Shows an appeal by the bowler and fielders, with a man in a coat and peaked cap calling out. Handwritten in pencil underneath the artwork "Private Johnson About Turn!". Artist signature on image l.l.c., "Frank/Reynolds". Verso stamp and details of Whatman's Water colour sketching board made by Winsor & Newton, Ltd. ; board is stamped "03665"; date 8 Aug 1940 has been stamped verso also
