Brief Description
Photogravure print depicting cricketers and two umpires, all individually portrait, standing in the centre at Lord's cricket ground. W G Grace can be identified as one of the cricketers, fourth from left, holding a cricket bat under his arm. The Lord's pavilion is on the left and low, covered stands full of spectators surround the field in the background. "DICKINSONS" has been inscribed on the work and also hand-written in pencil on the white paper below the picture. The Marylebone Cricket Club monogram has also been debossed beneath the picture in the centre; l.l. is Printsellers Association stamp 'H.Z.T.'. An inscription above the picture reads " London, Published 1 June 1895, Messrs. Dickinson & Foster, Publishers to the Queen, 114 New Bond Street West, Copyright Registered". The print is housed in a black and gold wooden frame. Parker Gallery sticker on reverse; conservation label and also a white label/? security sticker "M51215 (MS1215)".
