Brief Description
Colour engraving of a young boy asleep upright in a chair in an interior, with a small cricket bat and ball at his feet; after original work by William Hunt. The fair-haired boy wear a green smock under which a yellow collared shirt and brown top can be seen; blue pants and black shoes. Inscription printed below image at bottom left reads WILLIAM HUNT, DELT.; at bottom right: W.BROMLEY, SCULPT.; and is entitled at centre 'DONE UP'. Further inscription below title reads in part: LONDON : PUBLISHED NOVR. 6TH. 1841, BY MESSRS. COLNAGHI & PUCKLE, HER MAJESTY'S PRINTSELLERS, 23 COCKSPUR STREET, CHARING CROSS. Printed l.l. "Proof". Cream window mount; black and gold wooden frame.
