Brief Description
Indenture, handwritten in black calligraphy on three large lined sheets of paper. Paper is held inside a dark green three-flapped board cover (clothbound) by green string binding; the flaps on the right, above, and below fold over to protect the paper. Closely written on 4 of the 6 sides, it is an agreement for the cricketers named in it to "enter into a partnership for the purpose/ of playing a series of matches at Cricket" in various Australian colonies, Great Britain, and Ireland. Text on cover, embossed in gold, reads "4TH AUSTRALIAN TEAM/ 1884". M6086.2 is affixed to the inside of the back cover, underneath the Indenture pages.
