Brief Description
Printed poster/handbill on stained paper that is affixed to card. The card has a dark cloth backing with a woven pattern on the reverse. The poster reads, in part, 'CRICKET / A GRAND MATCH / WILL BE PLAYED IN / LORD'S GROUND, / MARYLEBONE, / On MONDAY, JUNE 7th, 1847...'. Poster then lists players from both teams (Marylebone and Sussex) followed by upcoming matches and an advertisement for cricket equipment. Handwritten inscription to the left of the Marylebone players names reads 'Lost'.
