Brief Description
Black and white photograph depicting a stage of the Tour de France undertaken in 1928 by the Australian Team, Herbert Opperman, Ernest Bainbridge, Percy Osborne and Harry Watson. The four cyclists are riding past a harbour at Brest. Picturesque buildings are lit by the sun in the background; some ships drift in the water; spectators stand in groups along the road; cars of the era and people are scattered about the edges of the wide space. Inscription on reverse, handwritten in ink, "28917 / 5 / Etage"; lower edge, handwritten in ink, "Les Alsaciens a La [illeg.] zheau".
