Brief Description
Caricature print showing wounded cricketers disembarking from a ship. The figures are wearing cricket whites, some with pads and bats, some with striped blazers and caps. All of them are nursing injuries, and some have plasters, crutches and slings. In the top-right corner is a winged man pierced with an arrow, accompanied by a woman. The print is titled "THE RETURN OF THE CRICKETING CONTINGENT", and has the artist's name in the lower-right, and publication details above: "Supplement to "The Bulletin", Sydney, January 1, 1887'. Australia lost all three tests during their 1886 tour of England. reg number inscribed bottom left reverse.
