Brief Description
Hand-coloured caricature print showing a cricket match as a metaphor relating to the 1831 dissolution of the British Parliament. In the foreground, a bowler (King William IV) has released the ball (labelled "REFORM") which has hit the batsman (the Duke of Wellington) in the chest. In the background are spectators and a marquee and a flag which is labelled, "UMPIRE / PUBLIC OPINION". Four players have speech bubbles which read, "Hu[zz]a he's Out / Aye and with a Ground hopper too / That's what I call a Purger / Foul Foul", and below the image is the title, "BOWL'D OUT or the K-G & All England against the Boroughmongers"; and, "C J Grant". Below this is further text, "pub by Tregear Cheapside April 25th 1831".
